Billy Jean is not my lover

She's just a frog who thinks that I am the one........ who feeds her......
This is Kanako's birthday present. In keeping with our 'girls names from songs' theme, meet 'Billy Jean'.
This is to go with 'Lola' the Japanese Tree frog, and Black 'Betty' and 'Roxanne' the goldfish.
これは香奈子の誕生日のプレゼントです。可愛いでしょ!?有名な曲からの女の名前のテーマで;ビリージーンです。

More TAS 2011

Time for a few more pics.....

This M3 was awesome. The red Advan wheels had fantastic fitment and the Ericsson kit just looked so good . Not quite sure about some of the red accents though...

The Amuse R35 on the Option stand, looking good as always.

It's nice to see companies start to produce some wide body kits for the new GT-R. Although, I'm not quite sure about the front of this effort from Axell.

The rear however, I quite fancy.

New kit from the Mazda Master, RE Amimeya. Will be good to see it with some performance upgrades too.

The new time attack RX-7 sporting some nice heat shielding under the hood.

I'm guessing this is one of their GT300 kits......

The Kazama wide body kit is a great design and flows with the lines of the car so well. Can't wait to see it thrown around a track.

Lovely.

TE37V's? Check. Carbon bonnet and front fenders? Check. What more could you want?

More soon......

Now time for some music....

Always liked Brooke Fraser but didn't realise she had some new(ish) stuff out...

Don't think she'll be coming to perform in Japan anytime soon though, no matter how nice I asked!

TAS 2011

Well, were does the time go? It's been weeks since Auto Salon and I've only just started to sort through photos......it all seems so long ago......

The day started with the first (and what looks to be the only) snow fall of winter. To maintain the David/weather/Makkuhari messe synergy, mother nature came to the fore and didn't disappoint.
But hey, at least it wasn't rain!

The snow did delay the train a bit, but that was actually a good thing as I'd slept in! So, despite my tardiness I still managed to get to the Messe on time.
First port of call, as Top Secret were at the show again after a 1 year absence, was to go and see Shibuki san. After giving him a couple of cans of hot coffee (Rainbow Boss FTW, if it's good enough for Tommy Lee Jones.....) we had a bit of a catch up and then it was time to see what this years show had in store.

Nice to see a car back in the Top Secret gold again. There has been a lot of focus on the R35 and the new parts are looking very nice.
Speaking of R35's, I quite liked this one....

There were more exotics than previous years but, when they look like this I don't think anyone's complaining.

How do you follow up a white Murcielago Superveloce? With another white car of course!
The Super Made S15 was super cool.

I was really liking this S15 too.....

I want!!
As I can hear my wife's voice telling me how unpractical this would be............
I'll finish off this first installment with something 'practical'. Well, it has space to carry stuff......

In the jungle, the mighty jungle.....

Lola looks like she(?) is making herself at home.....
ローラは新しい家を楽しんでる。

Apparently these frogs change colour to suit their surroundings.
最初にローラは緑だったけど、景色に合わせる為色を変化するみたい。

Her name was Lola

This isn't the Copacabana but we're hoping Lola will still like it.

First step was to take out the old soil and foliage and give the cage a bit of a wipe down.

Lola just stayed in the corner keeping an eye on us. Not as green as she was before but these frogs do change colour, so maybe it is an environment/getting cold thing?

First step wast to lay down some pumice stones.

Then in with the soil, plants and moss. We've made the back quite a bit higher than before, especially the right corner. The top corner and mossy areas are designed to stay damp while the soil leading down to the 'pond' is the dry area.

Then in with the branch we brought back from Nikko. Have put the short end close to the front so hopefully it will be a good spot to see lola from outside, and for her to hunt for food too.

And a little finishing touch.
Was heaps of fun putting it together, but wonder how close our perception of a natural environment is! Hopefully she'll like it.

Funabashi Auto Festival Part 3: Drift

To make sure as many automotive bases were covered as possible there were to be two drift exhibitions on the day. For this purpose a couple of members from the Team Orange Drift Team were on hand to wow the crowds.

Sumika Kubokawa, crowned the champion of the Ladies Venus Challenge last week, reppin' Chiba. Yeah.

...and Masanori Kohashi.

With the details sorted between drivers...

.... it was time to go drifting.

Also noticed the 7Tune sticker on Sumika's car. Adam, you dog!

Cheers fullas.
